Andrew Stuart, Chairman of Isowater Corporation, will participate in a Feb. 18, 2025 roundtable discussion on the future of heavy water production and its applications in nuclear and non-nuclear markets. The online webinar, “Synergistic Heavy Water Production: A New Economic Opportunity for Canadian Hydrogen Producers?” will be hosted by the Canadian Hydrogen Association.
Stuart will share ideas and information gained from some 15 years of active experience, supported by $50 million of investment into R&D, technology and production systems, in the field of deuterium oxide (heavy water, or D2O) and hydrogen. This experience spans technology and market development as well as customer sales and service, including in his role as Chairman of the Key DH Technologies Inc. (KEY) group of companies.
KEY has developed a series of commercial operating companies, Hydrogen Optimized Inc., Isowater Corporation, and deutraMed Inc., to sequentially produce D2O and value-added deuterium-based products for the life sciences and high technology industries, and oversees the integration of these companies.
Hydrogen Optimized manufactures and sells large-scale water electrolyzers with the capability to be integrated with deuterium enrichment systems. Isowater refines the deuterium oxide, and sells it to customers in more than 25 countries at various market-grade levels of purity. Isowater’s customers include its sister company, deutraMed, which manufactures various value-added deuterium-containing products. Together these companies provide products and services to some of the most sophisticated end-use industries in the world, including high technology (e.g. semiconductors) and life sciences (e.g. pharmaceuticals).
Joining Stuart on the panel are Justin Moores and Nicholas Kuwahara of Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, and Sabrina Ullah, from AtkinsRéalis.
